Going four for seven on the power play helped.

The Brockville Braves defeated the 73’s 7-3 in Kemptville on Tuesday night. The road win enabled the Jr. A Braves to stay two points behind Hawkesbury for second overall in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL).

Brockville and Kemptville were tied 1-1 after the first and 3-3 at second intermission. The Braves scored four unanswered in the third.

Jack McDonald’s second goal of the night and sixth of the season gave Brockville the lead for good about five minutes into the third. Luke Tchor’s 20th of the year made it 5-3 at 6:36. Caleb Kean added some insurance with 3:45 to go in regulation; it was his 14th goal of the season. Colin Elliott closed the scoring with about 26 seconds on the clock; he now has four goals on the year.

Justin Dauphinais and Trent Ledrew had scored their 16th and third goals respectively earlier for the Braves.

Hunter Brazier, Patrick Larkin and Jeff Taylor had Kemptville’s goals. Two were on power plays

Brockville had the edge in shots 33-31. Sami Molu picked up the win in net for the Braves. Rylan Donovan was the 73’s goalie.
