The Braves defeat the Lasers 5-3

The Brockville Braves’ offense had a big night, peppering the Kanata Lasers with 30 shots throughout the game. The Brockville Braves took the lead late in the third on a goal from Philippe Gilmour.

Eric Faith did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Philippe Gilmour chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Chad Merrell delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and William Brochu contributed with 2 assists.

In the first period, Vlahos opened the scoring for the Braves with a goal at 19:39 with helpers from teammates Faith and Mcmahon.

In the second, Hill deposited a goal at 4:39 with helpers from Hawkins and Locatelli. Faith put in a goal at 19:58 with assists from Gilmour and Hill.

In the third, Markhauser finally put the Lasers on the board with a goal at 1:12 with assists from Merrell and Brochu. Sleeth scored a goal at 14:39 with a helper from Stockdale. Gilmour quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 15:04 with assists from Hill and Mcmahon. Merrell quickly followed with a goal at 16:07 with a helper from fellow Lasers forward Brochu. Jefferson answered for Brockville with a goal at 18:51 with assists from Hill and Holland.

The Braves’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Evenson’s big night as he stopped 44 of the 47 shots he faced. Evenson’s counterpart, Bateman, also had a big night, managing to stop 25 of 29, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Brockville Braves’ record to (1-0-0-0).
