JESSE WINCHESTER NAMED 2018-19 CCHL COACH OF THE YEAR

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that Brockville Braves Head Coach Jesse Winchester is the 2018-19 CCHL Coach of the Year, winning the honour for the second straight season.

Winchester, in his second year with the Braves, has coached his team to a 40-14-2-2 record thus far, keeping them in contention for a Robinson Division championship all season.

Prior to his coaching career, the Long Sault, ON native played in the NHL for the Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers, and Colorado Avalanche. He is a graduate of the CCHL where he played for the Cornwall Colts from 2001-2004 before attending Colgate University for 4 years.

“Over the last two seasons, Jesse has continued to prove on a daily basis why he is such a special coach,” said Braves General Manager Dustin Traylen. “His intellect, demeanor, and professionalism has created a culture, work ethic, and aura surrounding the Braves organization. It is palpable for anyone who steps foot in our program. I am thrilled for Jesse and his staff, they are truly deserving of this award. It was a big year for our organization, and hopefully the best is yet to come.”
