It will be a challenge for Brockville.

The Jr. A Braves will host the Navan Grads at the Brockville Memorial Centre on Friday at 7:30 p.m. At 14-5-2, Navan is one point up on Smiths Falls for first overall in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL).

Fans are being encouraged to bring toys to the game Friday in support of the Salvation Army Toy Drive.

Brockville (10-10) is eighth overall. The Braves won both of their games last weekend after a three-game losing skid.

Brockville is the only team in the 12-squad league that has yet to lose in overtime or a shootout; the only time the Braves have gone to an extra frame was at home in mid-October when they edged Ottawa in OT.

Brockville forward Luke Tchor is tied for second in the league in points with 29.

Braves goalie Sami Molu, who picked up both wins last weekend, received an honourable mention as part of the CCM Hockey Player of the Week award in the CCHL. Navan goaltender Braedyn McIntosh was the Week 9 award recipient.

In other action Friday night, Smiths Falls (14-6-0-1) will host the Kemptville 73’s (6-10-3).
