The Braves came back from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Smiths Falls Bears 4-2 at the Brockville Memorial Centre.

After a scoreless first period, Tate Leeson gave the visitors the lead 43 seconds into the second. Leeson’s second goal of the game came on a power play less than two minutes later; it was his fourth goal of the season.

Josh Spratt ignited the Brockville comeback with his first goal of the year at 9:25 of the second. Dalton Dunn tied the game about four minutes later; it was his first goal as a Brave. Mathieu Halle’s second goal of the season a minute-and-a-half after that gave the home team the lead.

Ryan Gillespie sealed the deal for Brockville with an empty-netter late in the third period; it was his fourth goal of the season.

The Braves outshot the Bears 32-24. Jake Begley picked up the victory in net for Brockville; Jake Smith took the loss.

Halle and Leeson were named first and second stars respectively. Sam Allison of the Braves was named third star.

With the win, Brockville (5-3-3) remains in fourth place in the CCHL’s Robinson Division but moves within a point of Pembroke and Kanata. Carleton Place won its 13th game in 14 starts on Friday night and continues to lead the division and the league. Smiths Falls (2-7-0-1) is still in the division cellar.

Brockville will play the Raiders in Nepean on Sunday at 2:30.
