The Braves defeat the Lasers 5-3

Justin Evenson came up big, stopping 33 of 36 shots throughout the game. The Brockville Braves took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Nicholas Hawkins.

Mike Mcarthur had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Philippe Gilmour chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Connor Sleeth contributed with 2 goals.

In the first period, Mcarthur opened the scoring for the Braves with a goal at 19:50 with helpers from his linemates, Gilmour and Jefferson.

During the second, Sleeth answered for Kanata with a goal at 8:18 with assists from his linemates, Johnston and Rider.

In the third, Gilmour answered for the Braves with a goal at 3:38 with a helper from Church. Van Ettinger quickly followed with a goal at 5:17 with assists from his linemates, Allaire and Walker. Bunka answered for Kanata with a goal at 9:30 with helpers from teammates Manderville and Noonan. Hawkins answered for Brockville with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:08 with assists from his linemates, Mcarthur and Evenson. Sleeth answered for the Lasers with a goal at 16:37 with helpers from Poeze and Markhauser. Mcarthur answered for the Braves with a goal at 19:54 with an assist from defenseman Hill.

Brockville’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Evenson’s big night as he stopped 33 of the 36 shots he faced. Evenson’s counterpart, Marcouiller, also had a big night, managing to stop 46 of 50, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Brockville Braves’ record to (12-10-0-0).
